Who do we help?

The Settlement Grants Program targets migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants who have lived in Australia for under five years, and who arrive on refugee, humanitarian and family stream visa classes.

  • Access education (enrol children in school, find English classes for you etc.)
  • Deal with family issues and problems
  • With referrals to migration agents
  • Fill in forms
  • Access income support through Centrelink and other agencies
  • With banking and financial institutions 
  • Provide referrals to gain recognition of your overseas qualifications
  • With sponsorship issues
  • By providing emotional support, respect and understanding
  • Referrals to other serv­­­ices
  • With general settlement information and much more!

All Services Are Free!




  • We use Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) accredited interpreters for clients who have difficulties speaking English.

  • Anything you discuss with the SGP Officer is strictly confidential .
